Community Asset Transfer Requests and Community Right To Buy The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 introduces the right for community transfer bodies to request a Community Asset Transfer for ownership, lease, management or use of publicly owned buildings or land they feel they could make better use of.Community Right to Buyallows communities across Scotland to apply to register a community interest in land or buildings, and to be given the first right of refusal should the landowner decide to put the land up for sale. How to submit an Asset Transfer or Right to Buy Request If you are a community transfer body that is interested in making an asset transfer request, please email Loth.comempreq@nhs.scot. NHS Lothian will allocate a lead officer to discuss proceeding with the application. Community Asset Transfer RequestsThe Board has received a Community Asset Transfer request for part of the Belhaven Hospital Site at Beveridge Row, Dunbar, EH42 1TR. Anyone may make representations about this request to NHS Lothian. Representations must be in writing and include the name and address of the person making it. A copy of the representation will be given to the organisation making the request. Representations must be made by 2 March 2026.
