COVID-19 Vaccination

Winter COVID-19 Programme

Your best protection against coronavirus. NHS Scotland strongly recommends you get the vaccine when offered it.

The JCVI’s updated advice prioritises those at the highest risk of serious illness and/or mortality. You’ll be offered the flu and coronavirus vaccines this year if you:

  • are aged 75 years or over (born on or before 31 March 1952)
  • live in a care home for older adults
  • are aged 6 months or over (born on or before 1 March 2026) and have a weakened immune system

The flu and COVID-19 vaccines are given as separate injections. Both are recommended for the best protection, but it’s your choice to get one or both vaccines at your appointment.

When you go to your appointment, a vaccinator will review your individual health history to ensure you are offered the most suitable vaccines for your needs. For more information visit nhsinform.scot/wintervaccines.
