NHS Scotland strongly recommends you get the vaccine when offered it. Following updated guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), eligibility for COVID-19 vaccination has changed compared to previous years. Unless individuals also belong to a COVID-19 priority group (e.g. those who are immunosuppressed), the following groups are not eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in winter 2025/26: Adults aged 65 – 74 People in risk groups, including pregnant women Frontline health and social care workers The JCVI’s updated advice prioritises those at the highest risk of serious illness and/or mortality. Primarily people aged 75 and over and people who are immunosuppressed. For more information visit nhsinform.scot/wintervaccines. When you go to your appointment, a vaccinator will review your individual health history to ensure you are offered the most suitable vaccines for your needs.
