Data Protection Legislation gives individuals the right to request access to personal information that an organisation, such as NHS Lothian, hold about them. This is called a Subject Access Request or a SAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can request copies of Health Records held by NHS Lothian in the following ways:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Online Portal: Request for Records Portal<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SAR portal is provided by an external company called Automatic Messaging Services Limited who have a contract with NHS Lothian to provide this portal. You can view the companies Data Protection Notice here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you wish to request copies of deceased patient\u2019s records the Access to Health Records Act (1990) applies.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
