The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015<\/a> introduces the right for community transfer bodies to request a Community Asset Transfer<\/a> for ownership, lease, management or use of publicly owned buildings or land they feel they could make better use of.
Community Right to Buy<\/a>allows communities across Scotland to apply to register a community interest in land or buildings, and to be given the first right of refusal should the landowner decide to put the land up for sale.<\/p>\n\n\n

How to submit an Asset Transfer or Right to Buy Request <\/strong>
If you are a community transfer body<\/strong> that is interested in making an asset transfer request, please email Loth.comempreq@nhs.scot<\/a>. NHS Lothian will allocate a lead officer to discuss proceeding with the application.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Belhaven Community Garden<\/strong>
The Board has received a Community Asset Transfer request for part of the Belhaven Hospital Site at Beveridge Row, Dunbar, EH42 1TR.
Any representations made to NHS Lothian about this request during the consultation period of 2nd<\/sup> February and 2nd<\/sup> March have now been shared with Sustaining Dunbar.
