Thank you for your interest in volunteering with NHS Lothian. Please make sure you have read all the information on our applying to be a volunteer page, are able to manage our minimum commitments and are willing and able to take part in our training programme before starting your application. 

For the majority of our volunteering roles, we ask for a regular weekly commitment at the same time and day each week. Please ensure you can commit to this before applying to volunteer with us. If your availability varies from week to week and you cannot make this weekly commitment e.g., you do shift work with varying shift patterns, we will be unable to place you in a volunteering role at this time.

Check our Volunteer Opportunities for the details of what roles are available and our upcoming interview and training dates. Please ensure you indicate which role and site you are applying for before you submit your application. You must also ensure you can attend at least one of the interview or training dates for your chosen site as alternatives are not available.

Our application form for these opportunities is open from approximately 12pm on Monday 1st June 2026 until 12pm on Thursday 11 June 2026. Applications may close early if we receive a high number so please get your application in early.

Once you have submitted your online application form, we will be in touch with you via the email address you have provided. Please check your junk/spam folder if you have not heard from us within 7 working days.
